Certified Construction Manager (CCM)

CMAA’s Professional Development Department provides construction management professionals with the industry's most competent source for professional education and training for the construction management industry. As your local chapter, our goal is to provide access to the resources that will assist you with your professional growth within the industry.

CMAA offers professional certification for construction managers. To obtain the construction manager certification, there is a 4-step process:

  • Application

  • Candidacy

  • Examination

You must have a requisite amount of experience and / or education as outlined below.

48 months experience as a CM in the qualifying areas as defined by the Qualifications Matrix AND one of the following:

  • An undergraduate (4-year BA/BS level) or graduate degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or construction science;

  • A 2-year undergraduate degree (AA/AS level) in construction management, architecture, engineering or construction science AND 4 years experience in general design/construction. (This experience is in addition to the 48 month CM requirement.)

  • No degree in construction management, architecture, engineering or construction science AND 8 years experience in general design/construction. (This experience is in addition to the 48-month CM requirement.)
